We chatted with Simón Mejía and Julian Salazar of famed Columbian group Bomba Estereo backstage at Lincoln Hall in Chicago.

Tremble Interview: The Black Angels

We talked with The Black Angels frontman Alex Maas before their show at Lincoln Hall in Chicago.

Chicomann: SXSW 2011 Coverage

Chicomann, AKA – Marquitos Garcia was kind enough to chat with us right before one of his many sets during SXSW. The guitarist for Antibalas-gone-solo electro-Afrobeat/Afro Freestyle pioneer has been performing his dance-inducing “multi-tasking” live, mobile studio routine for going on six years now. Here he talks to the TT crew about his initial resistance to move into live production, the sound he’s going for, and creating Afrobeat-themed tunes without a swarm of talented musicians on stage with him. Check out what he has to say, and be sure to follow this talented fellow. He is a staple in the TT house. Go get ANALOG DRIFT, if you don’t have it. You WILL NOT stop listening to it.

Classixx: 2011 SXSW Coverage

LA production/DJ duo, Classixx, was providing the tunes between and after the Cool Kids/Chromeo Green Label showcase at SXSW 2011. They were nice enough to take a moment to speak to us backstage about their new work, collaborating with Karl Dixon, and the LA electronic music scene. Be sure to check out their site and keep your eyes out for these jokers. They continue to do big things.

Eclectic Method: SXSW 2011 Coverage

We caught Eclectic Method right before their show with Wu Tang during SXSW.

Find out what he had to say about working with Chuck D and what’s coming down the line for Eclectic Method.

Grimes: SXSW 2011 Coverage

The Pop Montreal Showcase during SXSW at Club Deville this year was great. A number of Arbutus Records artists were on the bill, including the dashing young Grimes.

She spoke to Tremble about her voice, her visual art, and what it’s like being involved in the tour-de-force that is the Arbutus family.

SXSW 2011 Coverage: Moby

We talked with Moby right before his Vegan bar-b-que showcase during SXSW. He was one chill dude. Listen to what he said about how his art+music collide with his new album+book “Destroyed”.

SXSW 2011 Coverage: Miami Horror

Tremble Tremble was lucky enough to catch up with Australian heart throbs, Miami Horror, at their 2011 SXSW showcase at 501 Studios. Check out the video for some live shots of the performance as well as their thoughts on what gives them their sound, dancing their teens away in Melbourne clubs, and ripping off DJ Bob. This was an excellent show, and these young lads just played in Chicago last night. Be sure to keep following them!

OMD Reaction to Stubb’s Incident at SXSW 2011

Tremble was scheduled to interview Paul Humphreys of OMD on the morning of March 19. The evening of the 18th, OMD held a performance at Stubb’s Barbecue. The moment they walked on stage, a camera jib fell into the crowd and severely injured several of their fans. Humphreys was kind enough to speak to us directly about that incident. He talks about seeing bloodied people lying on the ground, expresses concern for their well being, and discusses the effect it had on their performance that night at Stubb’s. Our concern goes out to those who were injured.

Check back to catch our full interview with Paul (although, the only place we could conduct the interview was in a dark room by firelight…seriously…) as well as all of our other SXSW interviews (which are not conducted by firelight…)

Tremble SXSW Update: Twin Tigers Interview

Above is a taste of the interview we did this afternoon with Athens, GA natives – Twin Tigers.  The band was awesome enough to take some time out of their busy SXSW schedules (7 shows in 4 days!) to hang with us “down by the river”. Stay tuned for the video in the coming weeks! If you want more up-to-the minute Tremble x SXSW adventures, follow our Twitter feed !
